It was reopened during June 2008 at the direction of Fr Maxim Rosario and leadership of Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, in order to help the parishioners children who are living nearby church to take active role in parish activities even after passing Class X.
Patrick D’Souza and Rita D’Souza were chosen as animators. Aaron Lobo elected as its president. The youth between the age group of 16 years to 18 years are eligible to become its members. It helps the youth reflect on life, society and other difficulties, based on the motto of ‘Watch, judge and take action.’ It’s thriving because of mentoring by assistant parish priest Fr Roshan Crasta and animators Patrick D’Souza and Rita D’Souza. There are 26 members. The president Melroy Rodrigues and secretary Roshan D’Souza are keeping the members engaged and active.
YCS members are conducting liturgical service on first Sunday of month at 8.00am. They organize one programme every month. They volunteer for any programme that is being hosted by the parish.
They organize different competitions and games. They partake in several programmes and competitions held on diocesan level. They held a programme in Sneha Sadan orphanage, Gurpur, near here and shared their joy with the inmates. The rural camp was planned in Beltangady deanery during April. It gives ample opportunities to develop leadership qualities.
