International senior citizens day was celebrated on 21 August 2019. At 5.00pm Eucharistic celebration was celebrated by resident priest and the director of Shanthi Kiran counselling centre Bajjodi Fr Arun Lobo and con-celebrated by parish priest Fr James D’Souza.

A small gathering was organised at the church jubilee hall.The chief guest for this program was Rev Fr Onil D’Souza director of St Antony Ashram Jeppu and the resource person was Edmond Frank president of Mangalore senior citizen trust.

Speaking after the inauguration Fr Onil beautifully explained “The life of people after the of age 60. He urged the people to make use of the time by keeping themselves busy in doing some or the other work and serve the society”.

During the occasion senior citizens club Valencia was also inaugurated by the parish priest. The resource person Mr Frank explained the concept of the senior citizens club. He urged the people to make the best use of the club and also encouraged the people to join the club.

Renowned singer Ivan Sequeira sang a few classical Konkani old hit songs. Trio comedians Mellu, Richa and Steevan enthralled the crowd with their comedy. Fr Joswin conducted games.

Anil lobo welcomed the gathering. Lizzie Pinto rendered the vote of thanks.The program was well compered by Ace comperes Patrick DSouza and Dolphy Saldanha. The program ended with a dinner. Around 220 senior citizens of the parish took part in the program.
