Teachers' Day was celebrated at Valencia church for all the teachers of the parish on Thursday 5 September 2019 at 6.30 pm in the Golden Hall. The program began with a prayer song sung by ICYM Members,
The chief guest for the evening was Aloysius D’Souza Head Master of Rosario High school Mangalore, Fr James D’Souza parish priest , Fr Joswin D’Souza Asst parish priest, Anil Lobo Vice-president and Lizzie Pinto Secretary of PPC were the dignitaries of the program. Anil Lobo welcomed the gathering.
The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp.Chief Guest in his speech mentioned “One of the most difficult job is the teaching profession,teachers not only work for salary but they take it up as a service to the society to mould the children.These days government teachers rather doing teaching profession are made to do the departmental works.He congratulated all the teachers and wished them good luck”.
A total of 100 teachers were a part of the programme. Senior teachers of the parish, Sunday catechism teachers were presented with a bouquet.Celine Miranda, Dr Vilma D’Souza, Prajwal D’Souza, Sandra Lobo and Neena Rodrigues were felicitated for their achievements.
Fr James addressed the gathering and gave a memento to all the teachers as a token of love and gratitude.
Meaningful skit and dance was presented by YCS ,Bollywood medley was sung by ICYM Members and trio comedians Mellu,Richa and Steevan entertained the crowd with their jokes.
The programme ended with a dinner
